1. “Semantic Error”
Possibly the fan-favorite BL released this year, “Semantic Error” seems to hold the same level of interest and positive response as BLs like “Where Your Eyes Linger” and “To My Star”. From how thought out the entire script and story is, to the amazing chemistry of the main leads, “Semantic Error” is seen as one of the best BLs so far recording amazing viewership as viewers cannot wait to tune in to watch new episodes. The story focuses on two students in the university, the handsome and talented artist, Jang JaeYoung played by former KNK member Park SeoHam and the straight-A game developer who sticks to the rules Choo SangWoo played by DONGKIZ’s Park JaeChan. A complicated situation brings these two together and soon enough what starts off as a meeting and interaction for both selfish reasons, is slowly turning into a love story as both seem to realize that sometimes, a book is more than just the cover. A beautiful story about finding out the meaning of love, friendship, and self-acceptance, this BL is definitely one you should be adding to your watchlist.
2. “First Love Again”
First love again tells the story of a famous writer YeonSeok (played by Jin Geon) who thanks to a nine-tailed fox SinBi (played by Song HanHee) can remember his past lives and in this modern-day, he tells his story through his works. Despite his fame, fortune, and stunning looks, he doesn’t seem content as he is desperately searching for his first love, who he remembers from his past lives and hopes she reincarnated. And as fate would have it his first love reincarnated but this time as a man, an editor Jeong HaYeon (played by Jeon ChangHa) who was hired to work with him on his new book. Will his love and desire to be with Jeong HaYeon remain the same? How will YeonSeok handle his complicated feelings for Jeong HaYeon, who seems to have the same personality as the previous ones? Will love be enough? It is a funny, cute, thoughtful, and well-told story that you should watch.
3. “Oh! Boarding House”
The BL drama follows 4 residents of a boarding house. SulWon (played by Shin YongSeok) the meddlesome landlord, CheonSo (played by Im SungKyun) the fit teacher and lifesaver, Nam JaeWoo (played by 2Z’s HoJin) the lazy high school student and SulWon’s cousin, and Cha BongDeok (played by Shin KiHwan) the university bookworm with an affinity for giving orders and an OCD like desire for quietness. It tells their interpersonal stories and how they navigate what it means for strangers to stay in the same building. SulWon and CheonSo build a connection when CheonSo saved him from being murdered by a thief disguised as a renter. Sparks fly between them and SulWon tries to show his gratitude to CheonSo by taking care of him. However, CheonSo finds his acts annoying and tells him to stop. But SulWon act of kindness reinforces as once again CheonSo saves him from falling down the road. Despite their plans, their paths seem unavoidable as both characters seem to always be there when in need. Constant tension-filled interaction with one another is slowly building up to an interest as both characters try to understand if these are just coincidences or destiny. Will help turn to care or love between both characters? Watch to uncover the mystery of love, friendship, and brotherhood in “Oh! Boarding House”.
4. “Cherry Blossoms After Winter”
The new BL drama is causing waves on the internet for its emotional storyline, the visuals of the cast, and the chemistry between the leads. Haebom (played by Super Five’s Ok JinWook) is the adopted brother of Jo TaeSeong (played by Kang Hui). They were close as kids but as they grew up and even though they care for each other, they slowly became distant and rarely talk. That all changed in the final year of high school when HaeBom is put in the same class as Jo TaeSeong. Constant interaction starts to bring back old feelings that both have tried to hide. With just 2 episodes in, filled with intense longing gazes, adorable moments, and a fight scene that makes you root harder for them, the series has already captured the hearts of many viewers who cannot wait to see how the story unfolds.
