This series will get to know some of the female idols who are girl crush material. A ‘girl crush’ is defined as a woman or girl who is the object of one’s admiration. In other words, one of the female K-Pop idols that fans wish was their best friend or girlfriend. This can be based on their style, personality, overall vibe, etc. BLACKPINK’s Lisa opened the series for us followed by MAMAMOO’s HwaSa, TWICE’s JiHyo, ITZY’s RyuJin, Red Velvet’s SeulGi, Jeon SoMi, STAYC’s SuMin, LOONA’s Yves, ChungHa, former Lovelyz member MiJoo, and (G)I-DLE’s SoYeon. Readers voted for HyunA in our weekly poll (at the end of the article) to be featured this week. Let’s get to know our girl crush, HyunA! HyunA is famous as a solo artist under P NATION. She is one of the most iconic female K-Pop idols in the industry. Every K-Pop fan has listened to at least one of her songs throughout their time in the K-Pop world. She was previously part of the popular girl groups 4Minute and Wonder Girls, too. Not to mention that she was also part of the co-ed group TRIPLE H and duet Trouble Maker.  HyunA is known for her fun and hypnotizing performances. Any performance that she is involved in is guaranteed to be commanding and extremely detailed. From stage outfits to choreography, her hard work shows the second that she performs. Hyuna has previously dubbed herself the ‘self-proclaimed queen of performance’ before in an interview and we have to agree with her.  You can watch this live performance of her most recent comeback alongside fellow solo artist and boyfriend DAWN here.

One of the most admirable things about HyunA is how amidst the taboos of the K-Pop world she always chooses to do what makes her happy. She has so much power in her freedom. It is honestly inspiring to see someone not afraid to be themselves. For one, she is absolutely comfortable in her skin and shows it through a number of bold fashion choices. Her beauty is extremely doll-like, too.  We particularly love how she loves out loud, despite the taboo that exists behind public dating in K-Pop. Let’s take a moment to appreciate the love that she shares with DAWN. Fans jokingly call them the mom and dad of K-Pop.

HyunA is also the queen of aesthetic. She has an artistic perspective that she often displays through her Instagram.  Besides her aesthetic and free persona, HyunA is also well-known for being honest about the struggles she faces as an artist. She is also extremely down-to-earth and admits that she has a personality that is quite different from her stage persona. In this interview for her comeback with the song ‘I’m Not Cool’ her real self meets her stage ego.

Everything about HyunA is a vibe. What do you think? Do you have a girl crush on HyunA? Who would you like to see featured in the girl crush series?
