Kpopmap had the incredible opportunity of interviewing Golden Child, in light of the immense success they achieved with their 6th mini-album “AURA”, both critically and commercially. The members opened up about the process of album-making, their personal goals with this comeback and more, making for a truly enlightening conversation that will make you fall in love with Golden Child even more. Keep reading until the very end for a special shout-out from Golden Child to Goldenness all over the world! First of all, congratulations on making such a grand comeback with your 6th mini-album “AURA”. This is your first Korean comeback since October of last year, and Goldenness could not be more excited. What would you say is different or special about this comeback? Thank you. This is our first album without our leader DAEYEOL. It was very burdensome and hectic, but thanks to the help of the members, I think it was completed with satisfying quality. We have also tried to change the communication system between the company and our members through this album. Y If each of you could choose a color to describe your aura, what would it be and why? I would say purple because it is a dreamy and a charming color. LEE JANGJUN What would you say are the golden points to look out for in your new mini-album? Everything is explained by our visuals. TAG You recently completed your first ever tour in the US. Were there any moments on the tour that you would like to ‘REPLAY’? I want to replay our first U.S. tour performance. The reason is because we want to perfect every performance, starting from our first. BAE SEUNGMIN What would you say is each of your dream destinations for your next tour? We want to visit anywhere Goldenness fans are, but I want to visit Europe, where we participated in the MIK Festival. CHOI BOMIN Members TAG and LEE JANGJUN participated thoroughly in the album-making process for “AURA”, co-writing ‘REPLAY’, ‘3! 6! 5!’, ‘Purpose’ and ‘Miracle’. TAG also co-composed and co-arranged ‘Purpose’! What were your main goals when you were working on these songs? What did you want to express through each of them? The goal is to deliver my personal story, and I wanted to show the fans what JANGJUN has in mind through the melodies and lyrics. LEE JANGJUN It contains emotions that can only be felt at this point in my age, and I put my honest heart because I think honesty is the most important thing when making all music rather than expression. TAG Have you ever experienced a ‘Miracle’ in your own lives? Please tell us about it! It is a miracle to become a Golden Child member and meet Goldenness. BONG JAEHYUN Which song from “AURA” best represents the member next to you and why? ‘Purpose’ is a song that really explains who TAG is. It is his own written song and he has spent a lot of time working on this song. KIM JIBEOM Besides the title track, which song from the mini-album do you want to perform the most? I want to perform ‘3!6!5!’ the most. I chose this song because I think Golden Child fits well with refreshing songs as well. KIM DONGHYUN Finally, is there anything you would like to say to Goldenness all over the world who love and adore you endlessly? To the Goldenness all over the world, thank you so much for joining us on our journey. I want to bring happiness to you every day, but I don’t know if it’s going well.
